About Final Reel
Appreciating volunteers and film.
Final Reel is a charity organisation designed to support our sometimes under appreciated voluntary workers. Here at Final Reel, we love film, we also love the classic cinema experience we feel should be a staple of story consumption and entertainment.
So what is the idea behind Final Reel? To put it short, we raise funds through selling posters which allows us to pay for cinema tickets giving them away for free to dedicated volunteers, it's that simple! The additional and welcome bonus is that we would be helping out your local cinemas at the same time as the tickets provided will not be subsidised. Our aim is to help keep cinema culture alive, because you can't deny the heavenly smell of fresh warm popcorn at the movies, it's just not the same at home.
Our founder Michael Laundon is no stranger to all of the themes in play, as a founder of World of Books Michael worked closely with the volunteers who kept things working at the charity shops World of Books serviced, whilst structuring book recycling initiatives reaching 1000’s of tonnes of books saved from landfill per month.
After leaving World of Books Michael embarked on a career in the film industry and over time created M2 MediaPost who produce and finance feature films focusing on post production, over time investing in his own post production studio in Hungary, Pecs City Studios. Michael has experienced first hand the challenges of the film and cinema industry.
During 2020 the world locked down, keen to keep moving, Michael dipped his feet into movie poster trading, creating Rendezvous Cinema, a selling site for original and vintage movie posters and memorabilia from around the globe.
The natural next step is Final Reel…
We hope you can join us on this journey, thank you!
